What is GATE?
GATE stands for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. It is a qualifying exam for pursuing Master Degree in IITs,IIITs,IISc,NITs and for getting jobs in PSUs and in companies with the help of GATE scorecard.It was started in 1983.GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and seven Indian Institutes of Technologies at Roorkee, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Chennai (Madras) and Mumbai (Bombay) on behalf of the National Coordination Board — GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.Gate scorecard valid for 3 years.
